Flutterby Hunt on Fridays In April

We’re pollinating happiness in Downtown Kirkwood on Fridays in April! If you find a Laney Bug, Flutterby or Flutterbee, it is yours to keep. If the Laney Bug is red and black, you can keep it and you won a $20 gift certificate good for shopping and dining in Downtown Kirkwood! Bring your Laney Bug to the Downtown Kirkwood office to claim your gift certificate.

Each Flutterby has a QR code attached.  If you use it to visit the special Seeds of Happiness landing page, you'll be entered to win a surprise spring bee box.  Filled with Kirkwood art and Kirkwood honey plus.....10 winners in all.

What is a Flutterbee? A Flutterbee is the latest creation from Kirkwood’s Seeds of Happiness Guy, Mark Borella. Borella created these fun and colorful bees to complement last year’s butterflies to pollinate happiness and adventure in his hometown. Flutterbys, Flutterbees and Laney Bugs will be planted in Downtown Kirkwood Special Business District by the Seeds of Happiness team on April 5, April 12, April 19 and April 26.

In 2006, Seeds of Happiness started out as leftover lumps of clay that local artist Mark Borella made into little smiles to give to friends who were going through hard times and needed a little smile. The seeds and smiles spread. The first seeds have grown into a creative studio/store on Prospect Avenue in Kirkwood and online business too: smiles@seedsofhappiness.com.

The Pollinating Happiness activity is coordinated by Downtown Kirkwood Special Business District and Seeds of Happiness. Since 1975, the Downtown Kirkwood organization has served businesses and property owners in Downtown Kirkwood through marketing, public area enhancements and administration of Kirkwood Farmers’ Market.

*Red and black Laney Bugs may be presented at the Downtown Kirkwood SBD office at 130 East Jefferson Ave. during business hours to receive a $20 Downtown Kirkwood Gift Certificate.
